The First ALL-Electric Flight School

First all-electric flight school is coming according to a statement by Flight Design, an aircraft manufacturing company from Germany that has been around for more than 30 years in sport aviation. According to Flight Design, Pilot Flight Academy of Sandefjord, Norway has chosen the F2e, based on the company latest model of light aircraft F2, as the backbone for their new concept of an all-electric based Flight school.

The conventionally powered F2 is a CS-23 certified aircraft, as an S-LSA and also as a 600 Kg Ultralight. Safety is the hallmark of the company inspired by the car industry. Quote “…the F2 has been designed for extra rigidity and incorporates a combination of dynamically tested passenger seats, panel-mounted AMSAFE ™ airbags and an Airframe Emergency Parachute System (AEPS) for your safety.…”. The company envision ‘Vision Zero’ that is, a future where ‘zero’ occupants should face injuries during a very serious crash. The F2e is made in cooperation with Siemens eAircraft and will open new possibilities for the practical use of electric aircraft.
